Joyce Miller has been active in handbells for over 20 years as a director, ringer and clinician. She currently directs three community handbell choirs. Joyce was the chair of the Hartford Directors' Seminar and currently serves on the Nebraska AGEHR Board. She is a ringer in the Distinctly Bronze Choir and traveled to Italy and Switzerland with Bells in Motion in June of 2005.

Joyce directs five bell choirs at St. Wenceslaus Catholic School in Omaha, where she is a music teaching assistant. She also teaches private piano lessons. She is a member and past Nebraska state president of the National Music Teachers Association.
